After shooting so many weddings, and gone through my own wedding; inside out, I can say that today, weddings are all about how 'beautiful' it will look on the wedding day itself. pretty much details upon details are being put in until the overall are actually overwhelm the couple and the wedding committees... we had focused on the decor, the costume and dresses, make up and hair, all these actually stress out the couples and relatives - it is a really hair pulling stress.. been there done that.

But at the end of the day, when the dust settle down, things slowly fold back in, that is when the reality kick in.. staying at the in law's put further pressure and thus the 'impress mode' is always on.. and the couple had to be on guard on their toes at all time..

That is why on almost every wedding we can see a verse "Love conquer's all" It is actually the ultimatum. Nothing more that that. It is the love between the couple that will conquer any adversity. Your spouse as your ultimate support system; you can't get it wrong.

I can sense the love between these two love bird. Effortlessly they compliment each other in anyways.. the way they crack up on each other joke is really something.. love conquer's all..

The last time i posted photos and my notion was seven month ago. Not that I had hit the jack pot and stop my photography nor did I hit rock bottom and had to sell off my camera and lenses etc.
I was relocated to KK and things was at a nimble at one time with things moving really fast with the new place, the new environment and adapting being alone here away from my love ones really knocked the wind out of me. Even heroes had a rainy day so does average guy like me.. hah!
So setting a foot on the ground I had to dig deep and start again. Yes folk! I am back.
The following shoots was one of the marvelous wedding that I shoot early Feb.I enjoyed every bit of it!

Year Two Thousand and Eleven. One of my new year resolution is stop forgetting my battery charger and battery at hotels. I lose 2 last year.. charger and the battery. dang!

I'd kick start the new year with a wedding day shoot which reminded me off what I really enjoy doing. Not only snapping all the way but be part of the wedding itself. Enjoyed the atmosphere; the sincerity of the emotions shown, the concerned part of the family members and friends to make the wedding a smooth running. All attendee gave their encouraging smiles when the couple march in. Wedding suppose to be that way. All this makes my little hobby more authentic. It become easier to capture all the emotions, expression, the spontaneous gesture..

Asia is growing really fast. She is now 2 years old. Once a Project Director ever told me " dont miss too much of your child growing up". God bless him.
Just last Oct we celebrate Asia's Birthday. I felt really blessed having Asia and Shawry. Having a family had impact in one's life. Make you grounded. Like earthing cable. hehe.. I am loving it!
Beside being the clown and jewels of the family, Asia is really a nuisanse in the wee morning hours when asking for milk! Sweet nuisanse haha.. We are really enjoing every bits of her antic. Eversince she was less than 1 year old she had this clown face when we called for a funny face..
Asia and Shawry had a netball work out on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Asia really had enjoyed her workout until I had to dragged her to take shower!

With arms wide open, extending my love I am happy to say tat Lighted Darkroom Photography will maintain the 2010 photography package rates for couples that booked LDP for 2011 weddings. However the booking shall be within this month until January 2011.

I am working out with my counterparts to get a better wedding album therefore raising up the quality of Lighted Darkroom Photography. I am so excited with all the year end craze weddings lining up plus a wedding on the new year day itself. Rest asured, Lighted Darkroom is better than ever! Not being corky, but i'm just really being energized!

Well, you are still at earth and not in heaven; there is always hardship on earth, but still there is laughter, and joy.. therefore i am grateful having a wonderful and beautiful family that support me all times in everything that i do.. i am always grateful having a simple life although currently life is frantic moonlighting as a photographer..
Although the day job is started to creeping up on me, previously i have learned that to drop all work pressure and divert it by doing sumthing that you like.. that's why i have started to revisit the photos and edit some of the old photos that i ve taken.. drop it off and do sumthing that you like.. live life to the fullest..

Doing the post photo editing while listening to lady gaga simply doesn't cut it. It just doesn't click. Haha.. Simply not the synonyms. I guess it's just two different forms of arts. No, i don't buy her album ok, incase i get some eyebrows raise out there. Hah!
Again i have been into cyberspace silence a few weeks back. I was trying to clear out the maassive backlog. The past 3 weeks i have manage to clear out 3 weddings photos. Being a part time wedding photographer does requires a big commitment & sacrifies to maintain the qualities of the work. On other notes, it is also important not to effect one 'day job' performance. (i feel you bruce wayne & clark kane..) So juggling my current day job and my wedding photography does demand full focus and discipline every single day, night and day. Larry & Oli was the very very first couple that i shoot. It was during their engagement back in March 2008. They actual did put up some of their engagement photos for their slide!
It does feel good to being at the view finder again & taking shoots of two lovely couple that very much in love. Their vibrant smile & their character and action towards each other really shows how much they have being waiting to this day. It's December!

It is December! The final month of 2009! It is just like i'm still having hard time to scratch 2009 on my parking coupon (yup i got a few 15 ringgit saman due to that!) yet in a month time come 2010. Wow! A decade had passed in the 21st century. apuuu.. A decade!
Christmas is coming soon though. And December is a busy month for weddings. I'm booked for three wedding this month and still some are on going nego. On top of that, some christmas family photos & outdoor shoot are being line up! So sit tight, and while we are doing our year end shooping spree, do drop by.. I'm excited!

it's being a while

When i sign in into my blog this afternoon, the song by STAIND-"it's being a while" simply started to play in my mind. Yup, it's being a while since i updated my blog. Honestly, since last august, i haven't got any weddings to cover. Actually 2 wedding was confirmed but 1 got cancelled due to the couple who is now living in singapore not confortable travelling back to miri at that time during the peak time of the H1N1virus. Understood because at that time i was even don't want to touch any supermarket door knob or being at any sosial place. Talk about insecurity huh.. Then the second one, the couple decided to cancelled my service because their friend will shoot for them. Well, that is part and partial of this business;although i still wouldn't say that i am doing this for business but simply a hobby. plus i offered myself as another alternative for couple that is tight on budget to hire a fulltime photographer.
So, past is past, the next wedding photography is this month and two couples had already booked me for their respective wedding in december. Looking forward to that! In the mean time, i'm enjoying some TFP/TFCD session with friends to brush up skilled & doing other style of photography. Below is a good friend of ours. I felt excited when she come up with a corporate theme for this shoot and i love it. Do enjoy!

July was a very VERY hectic month for me. Attached to a new company, a last minute called up for a weddings plus another wedding to shoot did caught me off guard. But in the end, quality mattters the most. So i admit sometime it took more then 1 month to complete. But so far, i never exceed 2 months including the albums layout. So don't worry friends..

Restena & Herman held their wedding ceremony at the eastwood garden area called Mainbuilding Front. Don't ask me but that what it says at the hotel board. A close ceremony filled with family and close friend. These two avid golfers almost made me to put up golf ball on the slide. Enjoy the photos..

Garden wedding is definately a the fav theme among photographers. Especially here in Sarawak rarely we had a garden wedding. Last year I had covered one while this year 2009 base on my bookings I only have one garden wedding.
However it is a bit tricky. When it is around 9am, the sun starts to shine termendously and one thing i hate the most during outdoor shooting is shadows. There's definately shadows at that time. To overcome that I'll use fill in flash. I know the flash will tick off the couple but i'll brief them in advance for that =). After all, we want good photos right. Always that is the priority. By the way, LIGHTED DARKROOM PHOTOGRAPHY (that is us k if you still don't know) have venture for better quality wedding albums. We manage to hooked up a deal with a local supplier from KL for compressed-magazine style album. yeaaa.. compressed album is much much better quality compare to the stick on album. printing will be done in KL too; So with all said,=) I'll maintain my price for stick on album whereby add on RM 200 (while the oil price is still $61.99 per barrel)for the compressed album. So the newly wed couple that is waiting for their album do contact me if you opt for the compressed album k. Ok that's that. Move on..

As per my previous post, May, June July is a very hectic period of weddings. This is my third saturday in a row that i had wake up at 6am. Not that i am complaining but doing thing that you enjoy just makes you jump out of the bed. Being paid for doing things that you enjoyed doing is a BONUS. hehe.. A friend told me that exact word that night which remind me of David Beckham during an interview way long time ago when he was still donning the number 10 Man U shirt. " i enjoy playing football. my childhood hobby. being paid to doing things that i enjoyed doing is a BONUS." Enough about me; i'm kind of a chatter box when come to writings. hehe..

I did a photo shoot with these two sometime last year when i got my first dslr. I was eagerly sharping my skill, while they want their photos taken and so much in love that time and until now obviously. Soooo many nice photos to post but little space to put in on,, love the venue both church and eastwood ballroom. The chruch gave a pure, clean whitey and close family kind of feeling, while the eastwood never failed to impress we with the majestic and grand finale of a wedding day.. here i go again.. pak pak pak like a duck..

I was extremely honour when I was invited to join a group of enthusiastic photographers for a photoshot outing with a model in the making. It is always an opurtinity to learn sumthing and at the same time to enchance the photoskill & refresh yourself and a new sets of photos. And i won't do any justice if i don't mention that our model of the day was a very pretty & talented young lady. I was thrilled when they brief me on the kenyah custom wedding and honored to be their photographer for the day.

This week is my final week at the company. No, i yet to venture fulltime in photography. I still think the local market still too small and the established bridal had clawed in all potential client. No worries,i like it like this,, photoshoot during week end, PP the photos at night and have a quiet time on Sunday with my family. I thank God for all the blessing and having a really supportive wife is a BONUS. =)

Sylvia call me up to ask about my package & sample. It was sometime early this year. I set a meet up and was taken off guard when she was with her mother.. so mother nego skill profound ably was top class and i was booked in an instant. hahaha.. Don't get me wrong. Nothing hostile or what. Just a soft glance from mother, i gave an interesting package to the couple. God bless all mothers.

The wedding was fill with familar faces, kelabit & kayan clan. Sylvia's sis was my uni-mate and they is a huge resemblance between them. Being the youngest in the family, it was an emotional feeling at times for the sisters to let go their baby sis. oh, i am being emo here.. nevertheless, the wedding was very lively and so was the reception. Two pro Sape player was strumming all night the hypnotic tune. A lot of interesting program was put up. Fun couple fun company.. happy viewing..

It is the wedding peak season again.. Since last week i had two wedding already. I was extreamly excited after shelfing my marker for almost 2 months.. here's a sneak peak on what i am working on lately. On top of all the wedding photos, I had a lot of shots during the gawai festival that i spent at shawry's kampung.. Asia really enjoy the attention there. Till then, time to burn the midnight oil.. duh..

Some might think I have throw the towel and left. No updates for 2 weeks. I am actually away to a very remote location where only 74 of us on a 70meter x 20meter steel structure with 40 meter high. But necesity of life is sufficient here. Overflowing actually.
We had Sunday buffet yesterday; crab, prawn, BBQ fish & beef,all the best food here. Drinks, Coke, 100plus, dutch lady fresh milk (full cream & low diet) are all free to access. Hot straight from the oven pizza every Wednesday & Saturday noon tea time. We got laundry service, gym room and PS2 played on the cinema screen.
But all these luxury is on a gas reservoir. Gas being pump up to the surface though a conductor pipe, flowline straight to a contactor vessel(a tank). Separation process, again & again until at last being export to shore. But all this process is extreme dangerous and heavy work. Gas & condensate are highly flammable. All pipes & vessel are high pressure and can burst out form any of loosen flange or undercut welding. Life here are actually living by a thread here. Our work are always being interupted by now and then due to overpressure or passing (sipping gasses).
But on top of that being away from your love one does make it tough. I missed my family. Wonder what is asia & mother doing right now.. take care you two.. love & kisses..

It is a low peak season for weddings this month and last month.. After February, after CNY, that's how it is. Does it got sumthing to do with the global economic? maybe.. and it also does sumthing to do with the school holidays. A friend of mine told me it's the new year. Come new year, the couple normally evaluate their relationship, where are they heading to. they will be thinking of their age, and ask each other and even challange each other to get married. So that will kick start the whole process.. the meet the parents, do the budget planning, start to scout for bridal house, start listing the wedding commitee, emcee, band, bridemaid, flower girl, bestman(normally last cos guys potrays coolness when do things last minute)etc. during this time, the internet is like is like a big bro/sis and you started to bookmarked or your favorite box list is filled up!
yeah, been there done that.. the whole none yard!after all, normally our community does not use any wedding planner service..

So, since this month is a bit free, and i don't want to start slacking, i started a small project. I started to fill up my stock photo. Online stock photos are where you can publish your photos and someone around the world might buy it. Some site in the net is free sign up. Below are some photos i got last weekend while waiting for Asia's mama make porridge (AirAsia label it Congee, to sound more mysterious maybe..)btw, my next wedding assignment is next mth, 2 weddings in a row for three days. So stay tune for more object, flora & landscape view ..

I was trying my best to get a sharp macro look using my kit lens. And using manual focus to ensure the photos not soft looking. but i still have to shoot all wide open to ensure a short depth of field to isolate the focus from the surrounding.

It have been quite a long time since I posted Asia photos. She is 5 month plus already and does time's flies passed really fast. She just recovered from her flu and she is very hyperactive now. She started to rolls and flip like beef burger on the hot pan. Everyday is a blessing for us seeing her with her stunt. She is still on breast feeding and formula fed when mama is not around. Meaning, i don't have to wake up in the middle of the night cos mama milk.. And yesterday, while mama was out i feed her formulated milk (less glamour called instant milk/cow milk) she insist to hold the bottle by herself. I had a good laugh at her when she try to figure out why she can't aim the nipple into her mouth. After a few attempt she manage to adjust, aim and plug it in. I did caught the whole action on my phone video. After i figure out how to down size the video i'll upload it here.. hehe..

Had to wake up early that day. I guess this job had change me to be an early person. Zamilah here was early and running to checking up all are in place.

I come to understand that Malay Custom Wedding had a few stages and even Miri & Kuching had different style doing it. There are Akat Nikah, Bersanding, Merenjit and tepung tawar, Berlulut to name a few. I am still lost in all these but it sure expose me to various weddings and i was very attentive through out the weddings to learn all this so that i am always ready to shot when required.

I would not miss this angle whenever i'm shooting at Mega Hotel.

My guy here posted like Sultan Melaka. Off course I force him to and i like it.

I had a lot of close angle shot here and i cherish more close cropped images where it shows the emotion and your focus on the photos will zero in to them only rather than a wide angle images where we tent to focus on the surrounding too.

I have to admit being a first hand father, planner during the day and moonlighting as a wedding photographer is not easy. Asia was down with flu during the weekend. All job or planning was put on hold. Pity her she have to breath with her mouth. Then it leads to windy stomach. That leads to loose stool (cirit bah). And feeding her with the medicine was not easy task as well . She will shut her mouth shut and gag her self with her hand whenever she saw the non- needle syringe (they should figure this during my childhood time!) She don't even want to cry to make sure she don't open hear mouth. So, i don't even have time to wash my car and my lawn looks like a hutan skunder too!
I was very happy when my uncle popped up at my gate with a bush cutter and offer to cut my lawn since he have done his. And then my father drop by nad refill my fire wood stock too! Hey, looks like then sun starts to shine again.

This week we'll have our Festival of Praise concert and our kugiran will play the opening night. And i'm playing the guitar. So before all the madness with the rehersal and practice, I'll post my recent work in a bit. Tomorrow to be precise. In the mean time, i post these photos, as a 'coming soon to a theater near you '

After the wedding solemnization we went for a outdoor shoot. I was a bit worry tought i was going to rain when the cloud was very gloomy and black.. but end up liking it.. dramatic leh..

Then we stop by at Marina Bay.. I am not a fan of the venue. but it didn't fail us. i just love the green healthy grass. remind me the green pasture of christchurch new zealand.(never been there actually) i have to admit Marina Bay is a great spot for outdoor shoot i tell you.. so next time if you are trying to hard to be different by looking for other venue in Miri, yet fail, drop by at Marina Bay.

It was a windy day that day, tina's hair was all over her face. but somehow it does compliment this image. and the projectory of this image was spot on. uuuu..

The reception was held at Dynasty Hotel Miri.. You just have to be extra careful during their entrance. With dimmed light, your have to be super fast to change the camera setting.

Lastly the lighted darkroom signature wine flowing.. a symbol of blessing flowing onto the couple and flow like a river continuously to all immediate family and flow further to all big family and friends.. hmmmmm........

I take my hat's off to all brides. As most of us, our culture still have not adapt to the wedding planner concept, ALL if not most of the preparation are done by the bride them self. running here and there; surfing termendeously on the internet like months before, shopping for stuff; design invitation cards.. and the to do list is like forever stays until the last minute only can be crossed off. to top it further most of them will have to stay awake til the wee hours to adjust the table seatings, rearrange the slide show or montage, even sew the labucci on their wedding gown at the night before. Then have to wake up at 5am to get ready for make up and all. So i salutes you guys err ladies.

Of course all my head shot close up eg the above i helped out to enhance the make up, put extra foundation on the cheek, chin & forehead then brush up a little colour to popped out their cheek bone and stuff.. by photoshop bah..
I guess the bride themself have to do their home work for their make up & hair do. This will definately plays important roles on your big day. Bring along picture of you choice of make up & hair do. Be firm with the make up artist. If you don't like certain things, inform earlier. If doesn't hurt to do a mock/test run prior your big day. Few time i see that head accessories spoil the overall look even the make up was very good.
Remember boys and girls, do your home work before your big day.

At the end of the year 08, i was counting my blessing. In deed the Lord had bless me with bundles of joy in 2008. Beside having my two (2) wisdom tooth pulled out, i can't remember any thing that more worst or depressing that that.
Start new family with my lovely wife, we got a beautiful baby, I move in to my new house, started photography and jump start wedding journalism/photography.

Relatively, i am new in wedding photography but the drive within push me to strive to get better photos. Having a entry level dslr camera does not impaired my images as i strive on the best angle shots and later i can post process the image courtesy of Adobe Photoshop off course. Do i sound boasting? Well, duhh...
My main objective when i started was simple:

1. Giving an alternative to the wed couple.

Glance through my blog here, that is my standard. At year 2008
my rates for full package was range from RM 800.00 to
RM 1050.00. The package includes a 22 pages - 8R Album.
Visit any bridal house and ask for their package for actual day,
and compare their photos and album quality.
Like I said, i am giving the wed couple an alternative.

Indeed this year i am striving for quality in my work. I will work differently this year. I will change my working style and my package.
FQA that i was asked the most was " will you edit the whole photos?" My answer here is- shooting in RAW format need a conversion software. so while on the software, it does need some tweaking here and there, so the answer is yes. but there is a further more editing after the conversion of RAW files to JPEG. that is using photoshop. This will further enhance and boost the images. Normally for a full day wedding i'll end up with around 300 images. So it is quite impossible to enhance all this images within a short period. Due to this, wedding photographer normally select all the important momement or event of the wedding plus the promising shots. So i will do just that. I will do full editing on to at least 100 images, but i'll pass ALL the images to client. So if I got 300 images, i will edit using the conversion software, and then 100 images will be given full editing.

So within the next few days, i will launch my new package for 2009. But for those that that booked me for their wedding in 2009 within year 2008, i will maintain the 2008 rates.And I might extended a grace period for the 2008 rates within January 2009 for the 2008 rates.

So hurry up! I open for bookings! I had 3 already. Two in Miri, One in Kuching. Last month I've just turn down a couple that clash with my earlier bookings. So, better be fast..
A 50 ringgit is consider a booking too!

After i did Irwin & Martina's family portrait, a week after that, we had ours. I want to have a few family portrait on my wall during Christmas.
I had to use tripod and timer for the shoot since i want to do all things by myself, which later i regret.. imagine set up the camera, do test shoots, then set up the timer then run in front for the shoots.. after a few shots, i was sweating like pig.. so a bit of clone and blurred editing most of the photos.. hehe..

Since i was not sure either to go colors or monotone, so i print both. In the end, i hung up the monotone pic. I guess it suits my wall colours better. =)

The next six photos we had it in Bintulu during my previous wedding assignment there.

Taken by Shawry. I saw a portrait like this a year ago. So I opt to have me and Asia similair posing. heh, whatever.. it's on my wall too.

Check out this massive church! Got stairs one oo.. I can't sleep the night before kept on thinking and strategizing my angle.

After the wedding we had a short photshoot session. Honestly, no photoshop was used on the 2nd photo. The cloud just opened up and God must have pour His blessing onto these two from above!

My first asignment in Bintulu. I arrive a day before at the wedding with my wife and asia at night time. So that morning on the wedding day, i force myself to wake up early and scout around the hotel for some photoshot spot. Here's two nice spot and the pools side view is also not a let down. So, i'll post more photos after i am done!

Thanks to auntie mar she got a bucket seat in my black mobile. and she seems to enjoy every minutes of being in there. thanks mar!
We had our night out yesterday and while i was pumping gas in the trunk(sounds like american huh.. being malaysian it should be "while i was pumping the processed cheap sour crude from other countries and sells here" ) she calls for me! doing the crow thing, "ark!ark!" she can see me from inside the car.. so baby starts to respond and express herself by now. so parents need to be careful she starts to gather data and might or might not remembers things she saw..
she also starts to suck her thumb, her whole hand actually. but one really bad habit she got is she always rub her face until she got rashes and scratches on her face. so, we wrap her in her towel or blanket at first but she sweating like what oo.. and starts to cry.. so being inovative, we as good parents tuck her both hands in here pants! hahaha.. just to make her not to rub her rashes.. i guess around 2 days maybe.. remind me of alanis moriset hit "i got one hand in my pocket and the other one doing the peace sign.."

November seems to be a bit slow for weddings. And it is good for me as i need to complete 3 albums. I had always make sure my album layout to be completed within 3 weeks after the actual day unless the couple had some adjustment/comment or hand pick the images themself.. anyways, i love the challenge to do different album with different layout.. nevertheless i have my Quality Control Officer-Mdm Shawry to review my layout, so rest assured all lighted darkroom album are of high quality and keeps on going higher and better.. hehe..
so, i have to complete all before next month . if not, i won't have a good christmas.. it's do or break , sync or swim.. and as december is going to be a hectic month for weddings, i guess i have my break this month, doing albums..

On 7th Oct at 1339hrs, Shawry safely delivered our baby girl weighting 3.4kg in MCMC Miri. I really thank God for the big blessing and it was a normal birth and Shawry manage to pull through all the ordeal. Proud of her.
Asia Aren, that's the name we decided for her. Aren is a kayan name for respectable pretty lady while Asia;I was looking for name that reflect simplicity and short, nice to pronouns and more pan asian name.. back to basis.. haha.. aok ajak la.. short & sweet.. ASIA AREN DICKSON.. see if you can say asia aren quickly 10 times.. ready, go!

Looking at her, she looks very calm & peaceful. Though it is very early to say she look like myself or shawry. Since i got a pretty low FREE wifi signal here in the clinic, i'll post this photo first. the photo was taken just 2 hours after the birth. Her full photoshoot shall be this morning with the "dusk light" or rising sun as the backlight. Hahaha lalu photoshoot..

For some reason my photos have the wide angle lens effect when i switch the backgroud colour to white.

so, "let the darkroom be lighten!"

It is kind of interesting when i seat back & think back of what makes me plunges into photography. When i was preparing for my own wedding back in Dec, i always surf though the weddding photographer's website. Especially the Singapore bound photographers-here.Day by day i got hook by looking at the images their produced. I started to angan angan & saying to myself i can do this leh.. So after doing some research for the right dslr that tailored for me (in term of budget that is as i just got my bonus at that time)In February 2008 i decided to go for nikon d40x with a standard lens 18-55mm f.3.5-5.6 AFS. Back then i was strugling to get the right exposure. at that time most of the time my photos was either blur, shaking or full of noise effect. nothing like what was in the website that i always visit. Not even close.. then, being cute i bought a SB400 speed light and stick using Auto Mode all the way and thought as long as i have enough light, the camera know what composition to use. DSLR being cost a few thousands of ringgit it is smart enough to dail the right exposure for you. hahaha.. well that what i thought so.. so now after a few stint of event i started to get the right exposure composition and even bring my little blue note book to read my notes. hehe..

I just got an all in one (standard & telephoto) lens an 18mm-200mm f-3.5-5.6 AFS lens. and i enjoy taking candid photos during wedding or other function by using the zoom. It does help to be more versatile during photoshoot.

but then again, i can't get the crisp sharp that i was looking for until recently i came across a few article about the sharp lens. for entry level dlsr owner, instead of pursuing for a telephoto lens like my 18mm-200mm lens with slow f stop, i suggest go for a faster lens. faster lens meaning you can tweak the aperture to the widest(lower f stops). you don't really need telephoto lens because if you are the official photographer for that day, you should the authority to roam about the hall.. but then again, different people have their different opinion on this. but if only i have known earlier, i'll go for a 17mm-55mm f-2.8. to fits my DX camera. Full frame FX maybe not yet lah.. =)

So, eventually I come to know Jill in secondary school and that's where I meet my wife.. =) vernon was my ex-colleague and we resigned the one week after another..blast of glory style.. it was fun being the same office with him..
For some reason, eventually, I was their second wedding photographer on that day because we were skeptical for some reason. kira safety net la.. hehe..

Today is our 9th month aniversary as husband & wife. Time does flies through. This is my first marriage and i intend to keep it that way.Being married does really change my lifestyle and does help me to boost up myself in every aspect of my life. Up a notch like they said. I guess we need a close aid to us; gives us a sound check now and then. Give us some pamper & pep talk on every junction or bumpy road that we are going through, some kind of the talk just after half time of a football game when you are trailing by a goal down and proudly i can say, my wife had done a good job.

Another milestone today is Shawry at her week 38 being pregnant. In case that you don't know week 38 onward baby is mature/big enough for delivery. Due date is at week 40 & normally baby won't pass that nor the doctor allowed that to happened. So the last time we visit the doctor, one phrase really struck me when he said "anytime form now". Scared that this is our first, newbie you can say, hopefully everyting is going to be fine and by the next time you visit my blog, you'll see i have another girl in life, posing along side her beautiful mummy..

These to love birds really serious with their wedding plan and being a part of it makes me PROUD.. hehe.. i manage to pass them their solemnization ceremony just after lunch that day in order for them put in their slide show at the reception tat nite and it does makes me PROUD to see the slide .. i guess they like it, that's why they put in up... =)*grin

Being busy with edwin & marylisa's album. Anyway, i have just send it for printing. My standard duration for an album is 2 weeks..Hopefully i can get the photos in a day or two.. normally i'll complete editing & set up the page layout for an album in 3-4 days unless there's major adjustment prior printing..

Next on my calender is this Friday, a classic wedding at a cathedral then a garden wedding on the next day. A two different kind of wedding set up.. i always think that the venue does plays a big role in a wedding, it set the mood of the wedding.. as a background of a wedding, when two different hearts, thought and mind, saying their vows, being joint become one, until death aparts them,heh, i got carried away there..anyways, feel kind of excited though having two wedding in a week, let alone a day after another. i was lucky as supposely i had a family portrait photoshoot this sunday, was postpone.. if not aa, three in a row. pingsan leh.. anyway, quality is the top priority then quantity right.. btw, infact, to be honest that will be my first family portrait officially. i'm planning for it to be an outdoor shoot.. then again, stay tune..

cyberspace silence.. I haven't given up on my blog yet nor did my wife had give birth. just a bit busy doing some album of the last photoshoot. been a while , guess i was lost in the cyberspace..

Read a poster of the Signature Photographer last roadshow. I was taken a back when i read one of the talk topic was "Why pro photographer instead of a weekenders." It did hit me on my sensitive side i guess. The topic alone a bit provocative to the freelance or less glamour title "part time photographer"- "A WEEKENDERS" somehow doesn't ring melodically to my ears. it is not even a word.. try type it on a word file document, right click, synomyms ? i told u so.. not even a word.. A bit frustrated some well known pro photographer whom you look up to but choose to go beyond the extreme to promote their service. Anyway, business is business i guess. No doubt their service is top notch, but calling us the weekenders, oo come on.. our existence is simple, just an option. Just an option to the couples.. if our samples up to the client satisfaction, and our rates is half of the other can offer, why not..

Should i start shooting in RAW format or just stay with jpeg??? i guess the photo above does says a thousand word .. it was taken in raw format.. Shooting in raw format definately does makes a different.. it does capture the inch perfect like in this case, pixel perfect details.. and during post process, thats when the magic starts.. well i guess Time to Change..

Practice makes perfect.Not so perfect at least better I guess. So last week end i set up my living room and crank up my camera setting to get the right exposure. My living room curtain was my background and with the help of the mighty sunday afternoon sun as my backlight, i got the right exposure. Although I need to practice my posing skill i guess. = )

We had just finish service at church when I saw the flyover from the parking lot. I set my shutter with 8 sec , and with the right recipe of aperture and iso to get this exposure.

I set up my tripod and snap a few photos of mr giraffe here. Then combine the whole photos into this shoot. Kind of freaky though, it's like a giraffe attack from mars or sumthing..btw, no giraffe was injured nor killed during the shootout.

Me: Will they allowed me to do that? They'll kick me out if they sees me with my camera..

And that was it.. i went into the bridal & ask for Edwin, they said upstair. Edwin & Mary just finish make up, so I just shoot randomly.. my wife was with me as a decoy to keep the bridal workers busy as she breeze in and started to talk to them & asking for wedding album to glance through.. during the whole process i feel like Jason Bourne..

aaa... what can i say bout these bad boys.. the first time i tasted lokan was when i happen to be involved in a project in Sabah Gas 2 years ago.. we keep on passing these small hut and i saw this huge kerang label "5 ringgit satu tompok". so we give it ago.. it happen that " 5 ringgit satu tompok" applies for fresh/uncooked lokan.. so a panggang/grilled lokan is 6 ringgit at that time.. so every know and then when i got the opportunity, i'll make it personel to be here.. be here or be square..

so our last trip to sabah, i brought my wife to taste it.. and man, we had about 20 lokan each at to different hut.. and top of it with coconut juice.. yum yumm..

Last week me and my 5 month preggy wife went off to the Northern Borneo Sabah, the land that lay just below the wind.. after our wedding, 6 months ago, we never had our honeymoon.. sabah being the home of various exquisite island is the best option for my preggy wife..

Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is a State Park lying from 3km to 8km off Kota Kinabalu which comprises of 5 islands. They are Gaya Island , Manukan Island , Mamutik Island , Sapi Island and Sulug Island.

We opt for Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sapi as the review i got from the website that i link above.

We really had a blast snorkling (die die must do)and actually got a few bites from the fish... the undersea was really a mesmerising scenery with all the coral and fish swimming and bumping to you.. and i actually got a bite! we actually go scolded for swimming passed the deep sea buoy and on top of it without any life jacket. i think we were hyponized by the fish..

Well, cut the story short we planned to go back somewhere next year with our baby.. if we can pass grandma & granddad..hehe..

Anyway, i really recommend these 2 island for newbie as Sipadan & Tiga or Pulau Mabul just to far to travel..

And did I mention KK for is haven for shoppaholic? Warisan Square & upcoming 1Borneo.. mind blowing..

thinking of doing an outdoor photoshoot here.. any couple intetested? maybe we gather 3 couple so that the cost won't be to high, i guess..

can u tell if she's happy? hehe.. i recommend these island trips to all couples out there.. the scenery make your jaw drops..

Garry & Cindy's wedding was held 30th May 08. Here's a few photo's i manage to edit right after the wedding.. the wedding felt like a supple and mellow in a good kind of way yet joyous wedding with all the laughter and smile in the ballroom.. glad to be apart of it.. the following day me and my wife jump into our car and off to the northern borneo for our long overdue honeymoon..

Wisdow tooth. When you get smart enough, it'll grow.. let us do a test to see if you got wisdom teeth already beside counting you teeth that is. Ok, press Ctrl+ Alt+Del on your keyboard.. Don't!! hehe.. Back to my story..

I had mine removed. It had being bugging me the whole week straight and my shape face was out of porpotion with all the swelling and stuff. I had a share of sleepless nights & there are times that my saliva dripping because I just can't close my mouth with all the swelling effect.The problem with my tooth was it is starting to grow horizontally instead of upright so it pierce my side gums* (hey me no dentist, hard to explain lah..) That's why it started to swollen and unpleasent form of liquid (scientific word - nanah*) started to form.

So last Thursday 05.05.08 I had it removed.
I got 8 shots of anesthetic, instead of the normall 4 shots dose. I guess it got to be the coffee; being a coffee freak..
I had to endures like a 30 second of slitting the surrounding gums, 1 minutes the dentist struggling to pull it out. I almost gave him a "T" sign to time out .. once the tooth was out, it was a relief and gave I gave a soft yet heavy huff nevertheless controlled. but then, from the corner of my eyes in this hand he had this thread dangling. O my, yes, he did sew my gum up.. and I pop in 2 painkillers plus another 2 while driving back. What an ordeal ... lesson learned.. take care of your teeth boys & girls..

So while resting at home I start to play with my own wedding photos. Tell me what do you think. I'm extending my package with include design photo album in 10R sizes.. :)

Last saturday after i drop my wife at her office,doing some overtime, I decided to do some hicking at the Canada Hill infamous trail. Since this was my first time, I was intimidate to hear the cricket cricketing sound bursting through the unchanted wood. My hand watch clocked 0837hrs as I stand awkwardly at the edge of the forest. My first step was greeted with a cold breeze and still I can hear the jittering sound of the cricket. I carry on.

Anyways, nothing bizarre happen and I snap a few pictures but the picture above I like most.
After a frosty wet armpit, I decided to turn back as I receive a message on my phone invite me for a breakfast. hehe.. would you resist that, yeah, i guess not.

As promise, here is an update on my new house call home.. ewah..

Long last, I manage to get things moving soon after my electricity meter in place. Man! things really move really fast last week as most of my furniture was bought last year like my sofa set was in the Home Design since August 07!!

So, last week by pulling the string from office (as my onshore supreintendant begged me not to go on leave as our elite team all either in Labuan or Offshore..) and with the vital help from my beloved wife who was on leave,, we managed to move in last Friday 040408.

A pick trough of my living room. I had a little grin when ever i look at my living room.. not to say I'm mintak puji, but I can tell myself, I have achieve something to get to this stage..

Thank You God..
